When I walked in to this apartment it had a small footprint and looked more like a shed than an apartment. It felt claustrophobic.
We inserted natural light by way of skylights in the hallway and common areas, took the ceiling heights up to those neccessary by sanitary law and removed boundaries to the external amazing views.
At the same time a clean summery palette of materials was used to complement the the seasonal use of the apartment. Dining facilities were designed into the apartment as a concealable and space saving element: since eating out on the terrace is way more enticing in summer anyway!
