This is a house of character that was transformed completely and entirely, breaking loose from the limited boundary it occupied and allowing itself to reconnect to the world. The ground floor was probably the most pivotal element of the transformation. The previously smaller rooms lacked the key element of light and the injection of a skylight at low level to allow for adequate ventilation at first floor was the key to liberate the flow, vision internally and inject light and life into the space.
The large main bedroom and its imposing double height was the perfect avenue to build in comfort and an added sensation and use of space that is seldom found in the larger houses!
