Joanne joined MJMDA as a part-time Administrative Assistant in April 2019. She previously worked in the IT industry for over 20 years, starting off in a front-line customer support role in the private sector before moving to the Government IT Agency, strengthening people and technical skills and gaining proficiency in different systems and software.
Simultaneously, she nurtured her interest in arts, crafts and design by attending various courses including Interior Design, Pottery, Folk Art Painting and Beading. For the past few years she has focused her artistic endeavours on beadwork and jewellery making and in 2014 she was awarded Malta’s National Artisan Award (Premju Ġieħ l-Artiġjanat Malti) for the Most Innovative Product (Contemporary Products) Category and took 2nd place in 2016. She has participated in International contests, most notably in 2015 when she was Runner-up in a beading contest with over 250 participants from around the world.
Joanne enjoys working at MJMDA being surrounded by creative people particularly in the Architectural & Design fields.
