The Sqaq Sampusa project was all about breaking loose from limitations and reconnecting with the world. This is a house of character where clean, contemporary lines meet tradition.
The ground floor was the most pivotal element in the building’s transformation. The previously small rooms lacked light, which led to a constricting, dark atmosphere. We installed a skylight that injected light as well as ventilation on the first floor. This set free a feeling of flow and movement in the space. It breathed new life indoors and united the kitchen and dining areas in brightness.
The large main bedroom was created to span a double height. The design is based on the idea of layered comfort, which adds vibrancy and sensation to the space. Despite the small size, the double-height layout introduces a novel, library nook to the room, which is even rare to find in larger houses.
